1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of lonestarmuslim.com and the services provided through the Lone Star Muslim website. By visiting the website, creating an account, submitting information, claiming a listing, posting a review, submitting an event, or purchasing or requesting a featured placement, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
2. About Lone Star Muslim
Lone Star Muslim is an independent community directory that helps visitors discover Muslim friendly businesses, professionals, organizations, services, and events across Texas. Lone Star Muslim is not affiliated with any mosque, religious authority, government agency, business, or event organizer unless a page clearly states otherwise.
3. Directory information and verification
Directory information may come from business owners, representatives, public business pages, official websites, public directories, community announcements, and other sources. We work to improve accuracy, but business names, ownership, locations, contact information, websites, operating hours, prices, services, halal practices, alcohol service, availability, events, and other details can change.
All entries must be independently verified by visitors before they rely on them. Lone Star Muslim does not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, available, licensed, safe, suitable, or error free. A listing is not an endorsement, certification, warranty, or recommendation.
4. Halal and religious information
Lone Star Muslim is not a halal certifier, fatwa service, or religious authority. Statements about halal food, zabiha practices, hand slaughter, Islamic financing, religious services, or similar matters reflect information attributed to the listed business or an identified source. Standards and scholarly opinions may differ. Visitors are responsible for asking the business appropriate questions and consulting a qualified scholar or certifying organization when needed.
When reliable information indicates that a restaurant serves alcohol, Lone Star Muslim may publish a disclosure so visitors can make an informed decision. The presence or absence of a disclosure is not a guarantee about the business.
5. Accounts and account security
Some features require an account, including saving content, claiming a business, managing a listing, submitting certain content, or accessing an owner or organizer dashboard. You must provide accurate information and keep your login information secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Please notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.
We may restrict or close accounts that contain false information, impersonate another person or business, misuse website features, violate these Terms, or create risk for visitors or the website.
6. Business listings and claims
You may submit a new business or claim an existing listing only when you are the owner or an authorized representative. You must provide accurate identity and contact information. Every claim stays pending until an administrator reviews and approves it. Approval does not prevent later review, correction, suspension, or removal.
Claimants are responsible for keeping listing information accurate and for having permission to upload names, logos, photographs, descriptions, contact information, and other materials. We may request verification, correct obvious errors, merge duplicates, change a category or city, add a disclosure, return a listing to review, or remove access when ownership or accuracy is disputed.
7. Reviews, comments, and community content
Reviews and comments must describe a genuine experience and must not be fabricated, purchased, copied, misleading, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, unlawful, or posted to manipulate a rating. Businesses may not offer compensation conditioned on a positive review. Reviewers must disclose any material relationship with the business.
We may moderate, decline, edit for formatting, hide, or remove community content when we reasonably believe it violates these Terms or applicable law. We do not promise to investigate or resolve every dispute. Opinions expressed by users belong to those users and do not represent Lone Star Muslim.
8. Events
Event information may be supplied by organizers or gathered from public organizer sources. Dates, times, locations, prices, registration requirements, speakers, audience restrictions, and cancellation status can change. Visitors must confirm current details with the organizer before attending or paying. Lone Star Muslim does not organize an event unless the event page expressly says so and is not responsible for event changes, conduct, safety, refunds, or losses.
9. Featured placements and advertising
Businesses may request paid featured placement, sponsorship, or promotional services. Paid placements will be identified clearly when displayed. Payment does not constitute verification, certification, endorsement, or a promise of traffic, leads, sales, ranking, or results. We may refuse or end a promotion that conflicts with our eligibility standards, community trust, these Terms, or applicable law.
10. User submitted materials
You retain ownership of materials you submit. You grant Lone Star Muslim a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to host, reproduce, resize, format, display, distribute, and use those materials as reasonably necessary to operate, promote, and improve the directory. You represent that you own the materials or have permission to submit them and that their use will not violate another person’s rights.
If you believe content on the website infringes your rights, contact us with the page address, a description of the material, the basis for your request, and your contact information.
11. Acceptable use
You may not use the website to submit spam, malware, false claims, impersonation, fraudulent offers, unauthorized personal information, unlawful content, fake reviews, duplicate listings, automated attacks, excessive requests, or content that violates intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights. You may not interfere with website security, scrape the website in a manner that harms its operation, or attempt to access restricted systems or another user’s account.
12. External links and third party services
The website may link to Google Maps, business websites, social media, registration services, payment providers, review platforms, and other third party services. Lone Star Muslim does not control those services and is not responsible for their availability, content, privacy practices, security, products, transactions, or policies. Your use of a third party service is governed by that provider’s terms.
13. Intellectual property
The Lone Star Muslim name, logo, design, original text, organization, and other original website materials are owned by Lone Star Muslim or used with permission and are protected by applicable law. Except for ordinary personal use and sharing links to public pages, you may not copy, republish, sell, impersonate, or create misleading derivative uses of our branding or original materials without written permission.
Business names, logos, photographs, and other third party materials belong to their respective owners. Their appearance in the directory does not transfer ownership to Lone Star Muslim.
14. Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information are described in the Lone Star Muslim Privacy Policy. By submitting information, you confirm that you have authority to provide it. Do not submit sensitive personal information that is not necessary for the requested feature.
15. Disclaimer of warranties
The website and its content are provided on an as available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lone Star Muslim disclaims warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, security, and noninfringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every error will be corrected.
16. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lone Star Muslim and its owner, contributors, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, personal injury, property damage, or losses arising from reliance on a listing, review, event, external link, business, organizer, user, or website interruption.
If liability cannot be excluded, the total liability arising from your use of the website will not exceed the amount you paid directly to Lone Star Muslim during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or one hundred United States dollars if you paid nothing.
17. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lone Star Muslim and its owner, contributors, contractors, and service providers from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your submitted content, listing claim, business activity, event, violation of these Terms, or violation of another person’s rights.
18. Corrections, suspension, and removal
We may correct, relabel, restrict, return to review, suspend, or remove content or access when reasonably necessary to protect accuracy, safety, legal compliance, website operation, or community trust. We may preserve records needed for fraud prevention, dispute handling, backup, or legal compliance.
19. Changes to the website or these Terms
We may change website features and update these Terms as the directory develops. The effective date will be revised when material changes are published. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
20. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any legal action relating to these Terms or the website must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in Texas, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
21. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and Lone Star Muslim concerning use of the website, except for a separate written agreement that expressly applies to a particular paid service.
